Career Overview
Current Focus: I joined Applegate & Thorne-Thomsen in 2018, I focus my practice on all aspects of real estate development and finance, with particular focus on the acquisition, financing and syndication of affordable housing developments qualifying for federal and state low-income housing tax credits. I represent investors, syndicators and developers and advise my clients in all aspects of a tax credit transaction, including structuring, compliance and negotiation of various legal and business issues attendant to such transactions. These projects have included housing for veterans, artists, the elderly and homeless, and have utilized a variety of federal and state financing tools including tax-exempt bonds, HOME Investment Partnership program, Community Development Block Grants, mixed-finance public housing, RAD, Affordable Housing Program and the Missouri Affordable Housing Assistance Program. I focus on understanding my clients’ business goals and objectives in order to provide them with the most efficient and effective service possible.
I also have extensive experience representing investors, community development entities, institutional lenders and developers in transactions utilizing new markets tax credits.
